Publication & Grant Draft
Through my RUMS (Research for Undergraduates in Science and Math) internship and under the supervision of Dr. Holly Gaff, I have been first author on a poster and I have written a grant for research with Ixodes spp.

In the summer of 2016, upon completion of sampling the Barrier Islands, my partners and I published a poster with our findings at the Virginia Mosquito Conference. Our poster, Amblyomma maculatum Tick Hunt 2016, was one of four to win honorable mention.
After isolating tick DNA and replicating the samples in Dr. Hynes' lab, a professor at Old Dominion University, I was moved to my own project with research on Ixodes spp. I created a grant to search for morphological differences between Ixodes scapularis and affinis. The grant was not sent out for funding; however, a draft for the grant with edits can be found to the right.
